Bella Matthias
Pitching Instructor
Bella grew up in Greenfield, WI and played at Greenfield High School where she was a three-time All-State, All-Division, All-Conference (POY), Milwaukee Journal Sentinel All-Area selection, and had a record-breaking 1,004 career strikeouts.
After her remarkable high school career, she attended the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and graduated in December 2020 with an Elementary Education major and Mathematics minor. During her three seasons as a Warhawk, she was a part of three Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference regular season championships, two WIAC tournament titles (2017, 2018), and three NCAA Tournament appearances. She was named WIAC Pitcher of the Year in 2017 and 2019, a three-year National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division III All-Great Lakes Region selection, a three-time first team All-WIAC selection, WIAC Pitcher of the Week eight times in her career, and is in the UW-Whitewater program record book in nine different categories. She was also the recipient of the 2020 WIAC Judy Kruckman Softball Scholar-Athlete Award and named UW-W Chancellor's Scholar-Athlete for the 2019-20 year.
Bella is very passionate about growing fastpitch softball and developing athletes to compete at a high level. She has been giving pitching lessons to ages ranging from 6-18 for five years.

Courtney Ermisch
Catching, Hitting & Fielding Instructor
Courtney graduated from Robert Morris University with a bachelor’s degree in Applied Health Science. She is a dedicated and experienced softball coach who brings both passion and a strong playing background. A proud alumna of Mukwonago High School, she earned First Team All-Conference and All-Region honors in 2015 during a standout senior season.
She enjoys working with catchers as catching was her main position until becoming a utility player. As a utility player, she has gained a deep understanding of every position on the field, giving a unique ability to coach players in all aspects of the game—whether it’s infield, outfield, hitting, or base running.
She now serves as the Head Varsity Softball Coach at her alma mater, where she is committed to building a culture of excellence, discipline, and growth—both on and off the field. She is passionate about helping players grow not just in their skills, but in their love and respect for the game.

Abby Curtis
Slapping, Hitting & Fielding
Abby is originally from Oshkosh, Wisconsin, where she was a standout player at Oshkosh West High School. During her time there, she earned All-State, All-Division, and was a three-time All-Conference selection in the highly competitive Fox Valley Association (2019, 2021, and 2022).
Abby currently attends Carroll University in Waukesha, Wisconsin, where she is pursuing a degree in Business Administration with minors in Finance, Marketing, and Management. She is on track to graduate in the spring of 2026.
As a key member of the Carroll Pioneers softball team, Abby has earned two All-Conference honors and holds multiple program records, including single-season steals and all-time stolen bases. Heading into her senior season, she brings leadership as a two-time team captain and has been recognized as Pio Athlete of the Week three times. She’s also been nominated for both Rookie of the Year and Player Performer of the Year.
With a career batting average of .367, Abby is a dynamic lead-off lefty slapper and a spark at the top of the Pioneers’ lineup. She is passionate about the game and is dedicated to helping developing players grow into confident, consistent hitters. Abby looks forward to mentoring young athletes and helping them compete at their highest level, both mentally and physically.

Haley Wynn
Hitting & Fielding Instructor
Haley grew up in Greenfield, WI and played for Whitnall High School where she lead her team to their first WIAA Division 2 State Championship and was named WSFCA Division 2 Player of the Year in 2018. Throughout her high school career she was also NFCA All-Region North utility player, three-time first team All-State, three-time first team All-District, three-time All-Suburban, four-time Woodland first-team all conference, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Softball Player of the Year, Suburban Player of the Year, two-time Woodland Conference Player of the Year, and holds nine Wisconsin state softball offensive records one of which being 204 career hits.
After her outstanding high school career, she went on to play at NCAA Division I Ball State University. Haley graduated in 2023 with a Bachelor’s in Science in Exercise Science and recently in May of 2025 graduate with a Masters of Arts in Athletic Coaching Education. She played five seasons as a Cardinal, where she was apart of two MAC tournament appearances. She was also named first-team All-MAC (2023), second-team All-MAC (2024), NFCA All-Great Lakes Region Second Team (2023), NFCA All-Great Lakes Region Third Team (2024), and one-time MAC player of the week. Haley’s career at Ball State University has landed her in the softball record book for many offensive categories, one of which is number 4 ranked player for all time career hits with 243. She also exceeded off of the field and was named a Top 25 student, four-time member of the Dean’s List, four-time Academic All-MAC, and a three-time member of CSC Academic All-District Softball Team.
Haley also has experience coaching at the collegiate level, during the fall of 2024 she was a graduate assistant coach for the Ball State softball team as she completed her master’s degree.

Brooke Balk
Hitting & Fielding Instructor
Brooke graduated from Luther College in December of 2018 with a Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science and later went on to graduate with a Master of Science Degree in Applied Kinesiology & Physiology from the University of Florida, in 2021. During her two years as a Luther College Norse, she was a part of back-to-back NCAA Division III Softball tournament appearances, a 2017 IIAC Softball Conference Championship, a 2018 IIAC Softball Conference Tournament Championship, was a member of the 2018 NCAA DIII 3rd Place Softball Team, and earned both IIAC Academic All-Conference and NFCA All-American Scholar Athlete honors. Prior to her time at Luther, she played her first two collegiate softball seasons at Saint Cloud State University in Minnesota.
In addition to her competitive playing experience, Brooke also brings with her a growing wealth of softball coaching experience. With coaching experience ranging from the park and recreation level, to the NCAA Division III level, Brooke has worked with softball athletes of many ages and talent levels. Currently, she is the Varsity Head Coach at Oconomowoc High School and will be serving as an assistant coach on our ESA 18U Prospects team for the 2023-24 season. She is also an active member of the National Fastpitch Coaches Association, the Wisconsin Fastpitch Softball Coaches Association and the National Strength and Conditioning Association where she holds her Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification.
Brooke is a Southeastern Wisconsin native, and she currently resides in Big Bend, WI. She is very passionate about growing fastpitch softball in and around her community and loves to give back to the game through coaching. She could not be more excited to be a part of the ESA softball family and looks forward to helping our youth softball players achieve their goals!

Fiona Girardot
Hitting & Fielding Instructor
Fiona's journey through softball began in River Forest, IL, where she honed her skills at Oak Park River Forest High School. Her talent quickly became evident, earning her prestigious titles such as MaxPreps National Sophomore Player of the Year and 2x MaxPreps All-American. Fiona's accolades continued to pile up, including being named 2x Flo Softball All-American First Team Infielder and 4x Illinois 4A First Team All-State, solidifying her reputation as one of the top players in the state. Leading her team to victory as a 4A State Champion twice and earning recognition as Oak Park Female Athlete of the Year, Fiona's high school career was nothing short of remarkable.
Transitioning to collegiate softball, Fiona embarked on a five-year journey with the Wisconsin Badgers, overcoming a challenging ACL injury in her senior season. Despite the setback, she displayed unwavering determination and resilience, leaving an enduring impact on the field. In 2022, Fiona's standout performance included starting in 50 of 51 games, boasting a .324 hitting percentage with 46 hits, and earning a spot on the All-Big Ten Second Team two years in a row. Her contributions extended beyond the batter's box, with impressive defensive stats and a memorable solo home run in the NCAA regional final. The preceding years saw Fiona continue to excel, maintaining a .324 batting average in 2021 and displaying power at the plate with four home runs in the shortened 2020 Covid season.
Off the field, Fiona's passion for the game shines through in her dedication to coaching and teaching. Now residing in Milwaukee, Fiona is committed to growing the game by sharing her knowledge and love for softball with aspiring athletes.

Jessica Keesler
Hitting & Fielding Instructor
Jess grew up in Cudahy, WI, where she played for the Cudahy High School varsity softball team throughout her entire high school career. She was a driving force behind the team’s success, leading them to multiple WIAA Sectional finals and Regional games. Her outstanding performance earned her numerous accolades, including Honorable Mention All-Woodland East Conference Outfielder in 2013, Second Team All-Woodland East Conference Outfielder in 2014 and 2015, and First Team All-Woodland East Conference Outfielder in 2016. During her 2014 season, Jess hit an impressive .529 batting average and was named Player of the Year for the Cudahy High School team. In 2016, she set the state record for stolen bases with 27 and maintained a .386 batting average.
After an outstanding high school career, Jess continued her softball journey at the University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point, where she competed for two seasons. Unfortunately, an injury ended her playing career early, but it opened the door to a new passion—coaching. Jess graduated in 2021 with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work and Criminal Justice. Soon after, she began a career as a first responder in Milwaukee, serving as an Advanced Emergency Technician and Firefighter.
Since stepping away from playing, Jess has coached athletes of all ages. During her three years in California, she led a 14U team to a championship game. Her love for the game and commitment to developing players shine through in everything she does. Jess is passionate about helping athletes achieve their goals and reach their fullest potential on and off the field!
